3-Azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane is an organic compound that is a reaction product of pyrophosphoric acid and enamine. It can be activated by reaction with alkali metal hydroxides, such as sodium hydroxide, to form the corresponding cyclic phosphonium salt. 3-Azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane is a synthetic intermediate and has been used in the preparation of zeolites and raney nickel catalysts for the hydrogenation of aromatic compounds. This compound also has important applications in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, such as benzene, isobutyraldehyde, and piperidine.
