Product Information
2,4-Bis(trifluoromethyl)pyridine is a chemical that inhibits the enzyme fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH), which breaks down an endocannabinoid called 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG). This inhibition of FAAH leads to increased levels of 2-AG in the brain, which can have therapeutic effects. The compound has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models and may also be useful for treating obesity and diabetes. The molecule has a redox potential of -0.5 V and is photostable. It is stable to electron reduction and shows no structural change when heated at 150 °C for 20 minutes.
