Product Information
Calycopterin is a natural product isolated from the Chinese medicinal herb Etoac. Calycopterin has been shown to have immunomodulatory effects in vitro and in vivo, as well as anti-tumor properties. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in cervical cancer cells and prostate cancer cells, with an apoptotic effect on the mitochondria membrane potential. Calycopterin is also able to block the expression of genes related to inflammation and proliferation. The chemical diversity of calycopterin can be seen in its ability to mimic fatty acids and inhibit p-hydroxybenzoic acid production in prostate cancer cells.
