Endo-9-Azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-3-ol is a ruthenium complex that is used as an agrochemical and catalyst in medicines. It is also used as a medicine for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and chronic pain. Endo-9-Azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-3-ol has been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) by inhibiting cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2). This may be due to its ability to bind to COX2 at a site in the active site that does not interact with substrate or product, thereby preventing the formation of PGE2 from arachidonic acid.
