1,1-Diphenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-ol is an analog of pyrazole that binds to the adenosine receptor and blocks the replication of HIV. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of various types of cancer cells in vitro. This drug also inhibits inflammatory diseases by inhibiting myosin phosphatase, a protein involved in inflammation. 1,1-Diphenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-ol is a potent inhibitor of fatty acid synthase, which is an enzyme involved in cellular lipid metabolism. It is a competitive inhibitor with respect to coumarin derivatives and has been used as an analytical chemistry reagent for measuring serum levels of coumarins.
