Description

α-Cortol is a chemical that is used as an energy substrate in the metabolism of amino acids. It is hydrolyzed to release acetate, which can be used for energy production by cells. α-Cortol has been shown to be effective in the treatment of alopecia areata, which is an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss.
