Carbazol-9-yl-acetic acid is a fluorescent compound that has been used to identify tissues that contain dopamine. This product also has the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and yeasts by acting as an electron acceptor. It can be synthesized from halogenated compounds and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. This product is also able to stabilize lipid nanoparticles, which are used in drug delivery systems.
