Tigloidine is a potent kinase inhibitor that has been shown to have anticancer properties. This compound specifically targets kinases, which are enzymes involved in the regulation of cellular processes such as cell growth and division. Tigloidine has been found to induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells, making it a promising candidate for cancer treatment. This compound has also been shown to inhibit the growth of tumors in animal models. Interestingly, tigloidine is an analog of rifampicin, an antibiotic used to treat tuberculosis. It was originally isolated from Chinese urine and has since been studied extensively for its potential as an anticancer agent.
