Chlorophorin is a natural product isolated from the leaves of chlorophyllum. It is used as an analytical reference material for HPLC standards, and can be used for screening and quality control in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and other industries. Chlorophorin has been shown to be bioactive against a variety of cancers including breast cancer, leukemia, colon cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer. In addition to its anticancer properties, chlorophorin also has antimicrobial properties that have been investigated for use as a preservative in food products.
