Isoamyl ether is an organic compound that is a colorless liquid with a strong odor. It is used as a solvent for organic compounds, in organic synthesis and as a reagent in organic reactions. Isoamyl ether has also been used as an extractant for the separation of fatty acids from oils and fats. The hydroxyl group in this compound can be synthesized by reacting malonic acid with glycol ethers or amines.
