Description:
Rubidium acetate is an environmentally-friendly compound with a high degree of water solubility. It is used in the production of polycarboxylic acids, oxidation catalysts, and metal chelates. Rubidium acetate can be used as an alternative to sodium carbonate and metal hydroxides in the manufacture of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The light emission from the LED depends on the concentration of rubidium acetate, which can be adjusted to produce different colors. Rubidium acetate has also been shown to have potential applications in organic synthesis because it can be used as an imine salt or alicyclic. Rubidium acetate is also used as a reagent for fatty acid analysis by gas chromatography or high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
