Ethyl 2-(3-fluorophenyl)acetate is a potent inhibitor of the TRPV1 ion channel, which mediates pain and inflammation. It is also an acetamide derivative that is derived from the homologous compound, 3-fluoroaniline. The compound has been shown to have high potency and hydrophobic interaction with the TRPV1 receptor.
