Dimethyl (morpholin-4-yl)phosphonate is an inorganic compound that is used as a solvent and chemical intermediate. It has been shown to have carcinogenic properties in animals, but not humans. Dimethyl (morpholin-4-yl)phosphonate is a potent inhibitor of histone deacetylases, which are enzymes that remove acetyl groups from the lysine residues of histones. This inhibition leads to increased gene transcription and cell proliferation. Dimethyl (morpholin-4-yl)phosphonate has been shown to enhance the carcinogenesis process by inhibiting ovary cells from entering apoptosis, leading to increased cellular growth and tumorigenesis.
