Description

2,4'-Dihydroxybenzophenone is a synthetic compound that belongs to the class of chromones. It is used as an industrial intermediate in the manufacture of other compounds. 2,4'-Dihydroxybenzophenone can be synthesized by two different synthetic methods. One method starts with a benzoyl chloride and uses cyclization reaction to produce a 3-formyl group. The other method starts with an alkyne and uses cyclization reaction to produce a 3-formyl group.
