1,2,3-Benzenetriamine is an industrial chemical that has a variety of uses. It is used as a precursor for the synthesis of other chemicals, such as dyes and pharmaceuticals. 1,2,3-Benzenetriamine reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce aromatic hydrocarbons and aliphatic hydrocarbons. This reaction can be observed using a magnetic resonance spectroscopy at high temperatures. The hydroxyl group in 1,2,3-benzenetriamine makes it reactive towards the addition of the hydroxide solution. The activation energies for this reaction are ˜14kcal/mol for aromatic hydrocarbon and ˜10kcal/mol for aliphatic hydrocarbon.
