Description:

1-Acetylpiperidine is a monomer with a polymer film and high viscosity. It is used in the pharmaceutical preparation of acylation reactions, as well as for the reduction of amines and Friedel-Crafts acylations. 1-Acetylpiperidine can be reacted with alkyl chlorides to form amides or esters. The reaction yield is high, but the reaction requires an acidic catalyst. 1-Acetylpiperidine has been shown to have analgesic properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit pain pathways by blocking the nociceptive neurotransmitter release from peripheral nerve endings.
