Description:
1-Ethyl-3-phenylurea is a cavity ligand that can bind to metal ions. It has been shown to form coordination complexes with macrochelates, which are large molecules that contain two or more chelating groups. 1-Ethyl-3-phenylurea is soluble in water and is able to form hydrogen bonding interactions with anions. 1-Ethyl-3-phenylurea also has the ability to interact with alizarin and other fluorescent compounds. 1-Ethyl-3-phenylurea's metastable form can be converted into a stable form by evaporation.
