Product Information

Name:
Stearonitrile
Description:

Stearonitrile is a chemical species that is used as a detergent additive. It can be used in the production of coenzyme Q10, which is an enzyme cofactor. Stearonitrile has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and it also has antifungal and antioxidant activities. Stearonitrile is synthesized by the Langmuir adsorption isotherm from sodium carbonate and a fatty acid or its derivative. It can be isolated by distillation at atmospheric pressure in relatively high yield. The structure of stearonitrile consists of nitrogen atoms that are connected to polycarboxylic acids, which are hydrophobic compounds. This chemical species has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, antifungal activity, and antioxidant properties.
