Description:

Akuammigine is an alkaloid that is used as a drug for the treatment of blood disorders. Akuammigine inhibits p-450 enzymes and has been shown to have interactive effects on endogenous synthesis. It also binds to receptor sites and exhibits inhibitory activity on enzymes such as cytochrome P450. Akuammigine has been shown to reduce the dry weight of human liver cells in culture, with an inhibitory effect on cell growth. This drug has also been shown to have a synergistic effect with taxol, which may lead to the development of new treatments for cancer.
