Description:
7-Methyl-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-5-one is a 5HT2 receptor antagonist. It blocks the activity of the serotonin receptors (5HT2) in the brain and has been shown to have behavioral effects in animal models. This compound has been shown to be an effective 5HT2A receptor antagonist and a weak 5HT2C receptor antagonist. In addition, 7-methyl-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidin-5-one blocks amine release from acetoacetate and inhibits polyphosphoric acid induced activation of 5HT2A receptors.
