Description:

(1R,2S)-Cyclopropane-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid is an alkanolamine that has a pH of 1.5. It is soluble in organic solvents such as ethyl diazoacetate and malonic acid. This compound can be used to prepare polymaleic acid and polycarboxylic acid derivatives by reacting it with ethyl diazoacetate or malic acid respectively. The compound may also be used as an antibacterial agent due to its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi.
