2-(1-Naphthyloxy)ethanol is a phthalocyanine that can be used as a solvent for organic solvents. It has been shown to have high solubility, and it can be used in the microwave or by irradiation. 2-(1-Naphthyloxy)ethanol is soluble in polar solvents such as water, alcohols, ethers and glycol ethers. It has a melting point of 6-7°C and does not decompose at temperatures up to 200°C. This solvent can also be used for microwave irradiation or by irradiation with ultraviolet light.
