Product Information

Name:
2-Acetyl-3H-benzo[f]chromen-3-one
Description:

2-Acetyl-3H-benzo[f]chromen-3-one is a coumarin derivative that inhibits the growth of bacteria. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria by binding to their cell walls, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. This compound also decreases cardiac hypertrophy in rats by affecting intracellular calcium levels. 2-Acetyl-3H-benzo[f]chromen-3-one's unique structure gives it a higher fluorescence resonance energy efficiency than other compounds with similar properties. 2-Acetyl-3H-benzo[f]chromen-3-one has been shown to be an effective antimicrobial agent against bacteria with low resistance rates, such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
