N-Dodecyl thiocyanate is a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor that reduces blood pressure by blocking the activity of this enzyme. It also has a significant effect on the body mass index, as well as on blood pressure. N-Dodecyl thiocyanate has been shown to be effective in reducing blood pressure in rats, which may be due to its ability to reduce cardiac contractility and improve coronary perfusion. This agent also blocks receptor activity of the dialkylamino type, which are receptors in the heart that trigger vasoconstriction and other changes in the cardiovascular system. The population studies have shown that N-dodecyl thiocyanate can reduce infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria, but it is unknown how this drug works against these bacteria.
