Product Information
- 5-Hydroxy-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole
- 5-Hydroxybenzofurazan
2,1,3-Benzoxadiazol-5-ol (2,1,3-BOD) is an organic compound that can be synthesized in a scalable process at low temperatures. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of many other compounds. 2,1,3-BOD has been shown to react with n-oxides and undergoes hydrolysis at room temperature to produce benzene and formic acid. This chemical can also react with metals such as aluminum at high temperatures to produce toxic gases. The onset of toxicity is between 400 and 800 degrees Celsius.
