Product Information
4,5,6-Trimethoxyindoline-2,3-dione is an organic compound that belongs to the group of phenanthrenequinones. It was synthesized by heating 4,5,6-trimethoxybenzene with ethyl acetate and hydrogen chloride. The needle-shaped crystals were obtained by slow evaporation of a solution. Single crystal x-ray diffraction analysis revealed that 4,5,6-trimethoxyindoline-2,3-dione has a molecular structure with two aromatic rings and a ketone group. This compound has been shown to exhibit thermogravimetric behavior with a TGA curve showing three weight loss steps at temperatures between 149 and 210 °C (300 and 410 °F). These steps are due to decomposition reactions involving the hydrolysis of ester bonds in the molecule.
