Description:
N,N'-Dibenzoylhydrazine is an organometallic compound that has a high activity index. It is used as a chemical probe for the detection of nitrogen atoms in tissue culture. N,N'-Dibenzoylhydrazine reacts with phosphorus pentoxide to form palladium complexes, which are then reduced by hydrochloric acid to give reaction products. The reaction mechanism is chelate ring formation followed by nucleophilic substitution.
