- 2-Amino-5-{3-Nitrophenyl}-1,3,4-Thiadiazole
5-(3-Nitrophenyl)[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-ylamine is a natural product that is found in the roots of the plant Dichapetalum cymosum. This molecule has been shown to have anti-fungal properties and can be used as a fungicide. It binds to fungal membranes by donating electrons and interacts with nitro groups on the membrane, which results in its fungicidal activity. The molecule adopts an unusual structure with two unpaired electrons. 5-(3-Nitrophenyl)[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-ylamine has been shown to produce diffraction patterns with a high resolution at room temperature in a monochromator. Theoretical calculations show that this molecule contains electron acceptor properties and is able to transfer one electron to another molecule.
