Description

2,4'-Bisphenol A-d8 is an impurity of 2,4'-bisphenol A (BPA) that is used in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. It has been detected in water samples from rivers and lakes as well as in foods such as fish, meat, and vegetables. 2,4'-Bisphenol A-d8 is a byproduct of the manufacture of BPA and can be found at low levels in most commercial BPA products. The presence of 2,4'-bisphenol A-d8 may be indicative of the use of ethylene to produce BPA rather than other methods.
