N-(2-Phenylethyl)acetamide is a chemical compound that is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is used in the treatment of pain and inflammation. N-(2-Phenylethyl)acetamide has been shown to inhibit cancer cells and bacterial strains, such as Escherichia coli, through its ability to inhibit their hydrogen bonding. This drug also inhibits microbial metabolism by binding to acetate extract from marine microorganisms. The molecule itself is hydrated and tautomeric.
