1-[3-(Dimethylamino)propyl]piperazine (DMPP) is a benzene-based chemical that has been shown to be an inhibitor of schistosoma, trypanosoma, and aralkyl. It attaches to the benzene ring in the parasite's cell membrane and inhibits the function of the protozoa. DMPP also inhibits other parasites such as benzoyl and protozoa. The carbon atom on the aromatic heterocyclic ring is unsaturated, making it a radical. The carbonyl carbon is also unsaturated, which means that it can form a carbonyl group with another molecule.
