2-(1H-Pyrrol-1-yl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-isoindole-1,3-dione is an anxiolytic drug with a cyclized structure. It is synthesized by functionalizing the benzoyl group of 2-(benzoylamino)-2,3-dihydroisoindole 1,3(2H)-dione with pyrrole. The hydrolysis of this compound has been shown to produce 3-(2H)pyrrolidinone and 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde. It is also possible to produce 2-(1H)pyrrolidinone and 2,5-dimethoxyphenol. This drug has been shown to have sedative effects in mice and rats in vivo.
