Description:

1,5-Di(furan-2-yl)penta-1,4-dien-3-one is a solvent that belongs to the group of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). TFA is commonly used as a solvent for chemical reactions and as an acid catalyst. Trifluoroacetic acid has been shown to inhibit the glomerular filtration rate in mice. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique was used to identify the presence of 1,5-di(furan-2-yl)penta-1,4-dien-3-one in human serum. It is also able to inhibit skin cancer cells and leukemia inhibitory factor.
