Product Information
1H-Pyrrole-3,4-dicarboxylic acid is a benzyl substituted derivative of pyrrole that exhibits photophysical properties in the visible region of the spectrum. The crystal structure is composed of a hexagonal unit cell with a lattice parameter of 2.914 Å, containing one molecule in the asymmetric unit. It has been shown to undergo cycloaddition reactions with azomethine ylides to form 1,3-dipolar adducts. Substituent effects on the reactivity and photophysical properties have been evaluated by comparing 1H-pyrrole-3,4-dicarboxylic acid with its diethyl ester and sterically hindered carboxy analogues.
