Diazoxon-d10 is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of insecticides. It is used to control insect and acarid pests in stored grains, cotton, and other agricultural products. Diazoxon-d10 inhibits acetylcholinesterase activity by forming a covalent bond with the serine residue at the active site of the enzyme. It has been shown to be toxic for wild-type mice as well as transgenic animals with a mutated acetylcholine receptor. Diazoxon-d10 has also been found to inhibit fatty acid synthesis in vitro, which may contribute to its toxicity.
