Description:
1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane monooxide is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit the thermal denaturation of proteins. This inhibitor binds to a number of hydrogen-bond acceptors in the protein and prevents it from unfolding. Inhibition of apoptosis is also seen with this inhibitor, which may be due to its ability to bind to pro-apoptotic genes.
