Product Information

Name:
Dibenzo[b,d]thiophen-3-amine
Description:

Dibenzo[b,d]thiophen-3-amine is a molecule that can be used for diagnosis of cancer. It has affinity values for different cancers, and also for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. Dibenzo[b,d]thiophen-3-amine has been shown to have anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo assays. This compound is an isomeric form of the 3,4-trans-isomer and the 2,5-cis-isomer. The dibenzo[b,d]thiophen-3-amine molecule was synthesized using a three step process starting with the reaction of 1,2-dimethoxyethane (1) with aniline (2). This was followed by oxidation with sodium dichromate (NaCrO), which resulted in the formation of dibenzothiophene (3). Finally, this compound was reacted with ammonia to produce the desired product
