Description:
3,3',5,5'-Tetramethylbiphenyl is a ketone that is used as an epoxy. It has a high water uptake and good thermal properties. 3,3',5,5'-Tetramethylbiphenyl is not soluble in ether or methanol but can be dissolved in sulfonated solvents. This compound can be used as a polymer or as a membrane material due to its high permeability and conductivity. 3,3',5,5'-Tetramethylbiphenyl can be cross-linked with other compounds and has been shown to have proton selectivities of 0.2-0.4 when the concentration of proton is greater than pH 5.
