Product Information

Name:
Sodium Octanohydroxamate Hydrate
Synonyms:
  • Caprylohydroxamic acdi sodium salt
Description:

Sodium octanohydroxamate hydrate is a water-absorbing and fluidity agent that is used in the production of polyurethane foams. It is a sodium salt of an organic compound, octanoic acid hydrate, which is a member of the group of hydroxamic acids. Sodium octanohydroxamate hydrate has shown to be an absorber for oxygen and can also be used as an absorbent for liquids. It absorbs water in the air, leading to a decrease in viscosity and increased fluidity. This compound can also be used as a flotation agent for titanium or zirconium because it reduces the surface tension between these metals and water by absorbing oxygen molecules from the air.
