Description:

Amino-(2-nitro-phenyl)-acetic acid is a tautomer of nitrosobarbituric acid, which is an organic compound with two functional groups. Amino-(2-nitro-phenyl)-acetic acid has been shown to act as an acid catalyst in the presence of hydrochloric acid or barbituric acid, leading to the formation of a ketone and hydroxy groups. The amino group of this compound is capable of forming a salt with hydrochloric or barbituric acids. Amino-(2-nitro-phenyl)-acetic acid is also capable of forming a tautomer in which the nitroso group is replaced by a hydroxyl group. This tautomer can be used as an intermediate for industrial purposes.
