Product Information
- 3-Isoquinolinecarboxamide
- Isoquinoline-3-carboxamide
Isoquinoline-3-carboxamide (IsoQCA) is a compound that has been found to be effective against autoimmune diseases, HIV infection, and various viruses. It is a nucleophilic substance that can react with acids to form acid conjugates. IsoQCA has been shown to induce apoptosis in cells by binding to the benzodiazepine receptor on the cell surface. This binding leads to the activation of G proteins and subsequent activation of caspases.
Isoquinoline-3-carboxaMide is a magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) probe which can be used for whole-body imaging studies. MRS can detect IsoQCA in plasma samples at concentrations as low as 10µg/mL. IsoQCA has also been found to inhibit viral replication in vitro and this inhibition may be due to its ability to bind directly with the virus or its ability to inhibit viral protease activity.
