Product Information
- Carbamimidoyl-acetic acid ethyl ester
Carbamimidoyl-acetic acid ethyl ester is a bromoacetone with antibacterial and antifungal properties. It inhibits the growth of b-raf, which is an oncogene that encodes for a protein that regulates cell proliferation and differentiation. Carbamimidoyl-acetic acid ethyl ester also has antagonistic properties against furyl and thenyl radicals, which are reactive species generated by nitric oxide. It has been shown to be effective for Gaucher's disease, a lysosomal storage disorder caused by insufficient activity of the enzyme glucocerebrosidase. Carbamimidoyl-acetic acid ethyl ester inhibits the production of glucose-6-phosphate from glucose and prevents gluconeogenesis from lactate or glycerol, which in turn reduces the amount of substrate available for further reactions. This drug also has inhibitory activity against phosphofructokinase, which
