Product Information
2-(bromomethyl)-4-chlorobenzonitrile is an inhibitor of aldehyde dehydrogenase, which is involved in the metabolism of acetaldehyde. This drug has been shown to be selective for the endothelial isozyme, with no effect on other aldehyde dehydrogenase isozymes. 2-(bromomethyl)-4-chlorobenzonitrile has inhibitory effects on chiral drugs that are metabolized by aldehyde dehydrogenase. It has been shown to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in hypertensive patients.
