4-tert-Butyl-2-[(1Z)-(hydroxyimino)methyl]phenol is an anion with the chemical formula CHNO. It is a colourless liquid that has a strong odour and melts at -11°C. It is structurally related to salicylic acid, but lacks the carboxyl group of this compound. 4-tert-Butyl-2-[(1Z)-(hydroxyimino)methyl]phenol can be derived from the reaction of sulfate and helicity. The anion has been shown to be able to uptake nitrate ions in acidic conditions, which may have industrial applications.
