1-(Benzyloxy)-4-iodobutane is a synthetic alkylamine that is used as a medicine. It is an alkylating agent that can inhibit the growth of tumor cells by binding to the extracellular domain of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR) and blocking their interaction with the receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). The benzyl group in 1-(Benzyloxy)-4-iodobutane, which is a part of its chemical structure, may be important for its activity because it binds to FGF receptors 1 and 2 (FGFR1 and FGFR2). This drug also inhibits the activation of protein kinases such as Src or PDK1.
