(R)-2-Methoxycarbonyl)Amino)-2-Phenylacetic Acid is a low nanomolar antiviral agent. It interacts with the target protein and inhibits the replication of the virus by binding to it. The compound has a high degree of unsymmetricality and is in the range of EC50 values. This can be seen as an advantage because this means that the drug will not need to be administered in large doses, which would lead to undesired side effects. (R)-2-Methoxycarbonyl)Amino)-2-Phenylacetic Acid is a lead compound for daclatasvir, which is an inhibitor for HCV NS5B polymerase. This drug was optimized for substituents, which are small chemical groups that have been added to the compound in order to make it more effective against HCV NS5B polymerase.
