Quinazolinamine is a serotonin receptor blocker that also has been shown to be effective as an anticancer agent. It inhibits the activity of hydrochloric acid on quinazolines, which are analogs of the neurotransmitter serotonin. The inhibitory potency of this compound was tested on receptors expressed in human cancer cells and found to have a low oral bioavailability. Quinazolinamine was also found to inhibit enzyme activities, such as the inhibition of alzheimer 's disease-causing β-amyloid peptide production. The pharmacophore for this compound is similar to that of other potent inhibitors such as piperazine or amide derivatives.
