Description:

Octyl 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy-hydrocinnamate (ODHTB) is a synthetic antioxidant that is used as a stabilizer. It functions by reacting with calcium stearate, sulfamic acid, and dibutyltin oxide to form an insoluble calcium salt. This reaction solution can also be used to seal containers or as a low energy release coating on paperboard. ODHTB has also been shown to act as a crosslinking agent for polycarboxylic acids and fatty acids. It can react with diphenyl ethers to form esters. This chemical is used in the production of functional groups such as epoxy and amine coatings.
