N-Propionyl-(2R)-bornane-10,2-sultam is a cationic alkylation agent that can be used to synthesize a variety of heterocyclic compounds by transforming methanesulfonate into an electrophile. It has been shown to inhibit the transformation of nubilalis and cyclopropanation, which are important in the synthesis of pheromones and natural products. N-Propionyl-(2R)-bornane-10,2-sultam also shows diastereoselective properties with respect to the stereoselective synthesis of chiral cyclopropyl compounds.
