Product Information
3-Iodo-4-(isopropylsulfonyl)-5-(methylthio)-thiophene-2-carboxylic acid (3IOTC) is a monolayer that inhibits the specific growth rate of cells. 3IOTC also has cleavage activity with modulating properties and can be used as a ligand to inhibit virus production. It is able to bind to the virus capsid and prevent it from entering the cell, thus preventing infection. 3IOTC has been shown to have antiviral effects against HIV, influenza A, and rotavirus. 3IOTC also inhibits the replication of syncytial viruses such as rabies virus, canine distemper virus, and Semliki Forest virus. The drug was tested on bovine serum albumin (BSA) and organic acid assays for its effect on viral infection.
